Kiruna is a very active area with a high demand for hydraulic services. For the hydraulics and steel construction company Hydrock AB, this means efficiency and quality are top priorities. That’s why they rely on HydraSpecma as their complete supplier of hydraulic components.

Hydrock AB in Kiruna was founded in 2014 by Benny Bäckström. Initially, the business focus was 100% on the service and repair of hydraulics on stationary and mobile machines, but within a few years the business expanded to include a steel and sheet metal workshop. Today Hydrock offers a wide range of services in construction, steel construction and machine mechanics, as well as rental, service, support and operation of mobile machinery for mining and heavy industry.

The solutions that Hydrock builds are often used in harsh environments, and it is important that they are durable, as downtime can be very costly for the customer. This makes it important to be able to trust that every single component meets the requirements. Mats is therefore careful to choose reliable brands with a product range of proven good quality. An example of this is Danfoss Proportional Valves (PVG), which are purchased from HydraSpecma. Hydrock uses Danfoss PVG on work platforms and other places where high precision in the work process is required.

GOOD MARKET FOR CONTINUED EXPANSION
There is no shortage of jobs in Kiruna; on the contrary, it can be difficult to find enough personnel to meet all the customer requirements. Hydrock currently has about 80 employees and engages about 40 subcontractors. This makes collaboration between different companies extra important. Good collaboration makes it possible to help each other in serving the end customer in the best possible way.

– The customer is always our focus, and we work together with our partners to be able to help the customer in the best possible way. For example, we borrow staff from HydraSpecma for work that involves a lot of pipe bending, says Mats.

After several years of great growth, Hydrock's goal going forward is to stabilize the business and to set routines in order to continue optimizing efficiency.
