TRUSTED HYDRAULIC PARTNER IN FORESTRY – NISULA FOREST'S EXPERIENCE WITH HYDRASPECMA

Nisula Forest Oy is a forestry machine manufacturer founded in 1978 and specializing in thinning harvesters, harvester heads, and energy wood grapples. Decades of experience in forestry work are reflected in all its activities – from product development to production.

QUALITY AND SIMPLE INNOVATIONS

The renewed production facilities at Jämsä Halli provide a solid foundation for the development of operations in the coming years. The company's future strategy is to develop products that are more cost-effective for thinning operations and to develop additional cost-effective products that help customers succeed. Productivity, functionality, and low costs ensure profitable thinning results.

The Nisula N-series harvester, which has been on the market for over ten years, has been completely redesigned to better meet the specific needs of thinning operations. The design concept was to develop a harvester that is as purpose-built as possible, positioned below mainstream machines. The new N6 is excellent for both first thinnings and final spacing operations. The low ground pressure of the six-wheeled half-track machine allows work to be done even in summer conditions. The new N6 is a true thinning harvester in terms of its features, physical size, and weight.

FROM MULTI-CHANNEL PROCUREMENT TO CENTRALIZED PARTNERSHIP
Nisula Forest and HydraSpecma share a long history that dates back to the 1990s. However, their cooperation intensified a few years ago when the need for a reliable and dependable partner grew.

Before this collaboration, Nisula Forest sourced hydraulic components from several different suppliers. This decentralized procurement model posed challenges — sometimes the required parts were available, sometimes they were not. The goal was to find a partner who could provide reliability in both pricing and delivery assurance.

The solution was explored widely among different suppliers, but ultimately, HydraSpecma was chosen as the partner.

"The decision was significantly influenced by prior contact with several individuals working at HydraSpecma. In addition to familiarity and trust, it was crucial that HydraSpecma could meet the challenges related to pricing and delivery reliability."
- Ali Nisula, Nisula Forest Oy

COOPERATION STARTED SMOOTHLY

The first concrete steps in the collaboration were requests for quotes and test orders. These proceeded as agreed, laying a solid foundation for future cooperation. The partnership turned out to be exactly what Nisula Forest needed — a smooth and efficient component delivery process.

Orders and deliveries have remained consistent, even though exceptional circumstances have caused challenges for all operators.

"The biggest benefits have been the time savings and the fact that help is readily available when needed. The cooperation has been effortless — it hasn't required special attention because things just work. This is exactly what we expect from a partnership."
-Ali Nisula, Nisula Forest Oy

LOOKING AHEAD
Nisula Forest takes a realistic view of the future; the collaboration will continue if both parties keep operating properly and sensibly. As advice to others considering hydraulic component procurement, Nisula Forest highlights a few key points: in addition to pricing, attention should be given to component availability, delivery reliability, and the accessibility of contact persons.

HydraSpecma Oy supplies the hydraulic system for Nisula's N-series forestry machines and the drive motors for the harvester heads.

Nisula Forest has approximately 6000 m² of production and storage space and more than 30 employees.
