”Others use multiple types of blocks depending on the type of tractor. HydraSpecma helps create a customised version where one hydraulic block can be used in all tractors.”

SteerGuide ApS was established in 2018 as a sole proprietorship, and today SteerGuide offers various products and services specialising in the agricultural and construction industry, including SteerGuide RTK Autosteer, SteerGuide RTK 3D digging control and subscription to SteerGuide RTK Network. By using SteerGuide's autosteering solution, the customer will save both money and achieve a more sustainable outcome, as it enables more precise spraying according to the needs of the field.
COOPERATION WITH HYDRASPECMA
SteerGuide began investigating the market for the best solution available: "We talked to French, Polish and Danish companies about delivering blocks, but no one could deliver what we wanted without very unrealistic prices. We had done some business with HydraSpecma before, and where familiar with their hydraulic solutions, so we contacted HydraSpecma, and started a dialogue about needs and requirements. We had a block made, which was fine, however it is clear in a newly launched project, there are always minor adjustments, and we continuously work on addressing those challenges to make the block as flexible as possible to accommodate the many many different tractor models on the market."
SteerGuide's owner, Jeppe Frølund Jensen, is very satisfied with the cooperation, as there are several advantages in having chosen HydraSpecma as a partner: "We have not only bought a product from HydraSpecma, we have also bought know-how. We have had challenges with some dynamics in the hydraulics in a tractor which are a bit complicated. Here, HydraSpecma's technicians have extensive experience to identify the right solution. Or if I sit and read something online and think; it could be relevant for me and SteerGuide, then I can contact Kai directly, who is a technician at HydraSpecma, and ask what he thinks about it. So, we have a good dialogue all the way through. It would not have been the same if we had bought in Poland, France or the US."
HydraSpecma has a whole team of technicians with different backgrounds. Each customer is assigned their own technician, with whom they have ongoing contact in the process. By having assembled a whole team of technicians with different backgrounds, there are many competencies to draw on, and the innovative solutions for the customer are one step closer when you have the competencies inhouse.
Another advantage highlighted by SteerGuide is that HydraSpecma has its own production, so the process is shorter. And finally, it is a local company compared to SteerGuide. Jeppe says: "We contacted HydraSpecma in August one year ago (2022) with a dialogue about starting a collaboration. Already at the end of November of the same year, the first prototype was ready. It was assembled and tested in December/January. In February (2023), the second prototype was ready, and ten blocks were delivered and assembled. Now we stand in July (2023) with the third prototype and another ten blocks. We couldn't have had that pace with another supplier." By having the production in the same building as our technicians at HydraSpecma, it makes the process a lot shorter, and our workshop can easily get ideas for new solutions from the technicians, so the customer can get his product as quickly and as best as possible.
When Jeppe contacted HydraSpecma, it was with some reservations. "We feared that HydraSpecma was only taking in large orders and companies. But we have felt very welcome – from the very beginning. It has been a good process all the way through." For a company like SteerGuide, it means a lot to have a company like HydraSpecma behind them, as they have, among other things, the know-how and experience that a start-up company may lack. Jeppe adds: "It is also a seal of quality that we work with you."

THE FUTURE
For now, Jeppe is in the middle of a season with long days and not much time off. The business is up and running, and since he is the only employee, he does everything himself. The plan for the near future is clear; SteerGuide aims to enter the German market. SteerGuide is currently working on making the solution eligible for subsidy, and when it, hopefully, goes through, Jeppe hopes to find a dealer in each German state.
Before Germany can be taken, the final adjustments with the hydraulic block must be in place, as the development process is still ongoing for the most optimal solution. But both SteerGuide and HydraSpecma are confident, as they have already come a long way in the first year
