GOOD COOPERATION SIMPLIFIES PRODUCTION
YPV started buying hydraulics from HydraSpecma back in the late 1990s. And the relationship between the companies has grown strong over the years.
– We have an open and good relationship: we trust each other and cooperate in a good way. I think we complement each other well. HydraSpecma knows hydraulics and the range, which makes it easier for us to find the right solution, says Peter Lundström, CEO of YPV.
YPV's contact person at HydraSpecma for the past 20 years is Henrik Tornberg, Area Sales Manager. He has followed the company's development and is familiar with the challenges and needs that may arise.
– I appreciate the cooperation we have with YPV. The good communication we have with them allows us to solve questions before a problem arises. They are skilled designers and solve most things on their own, but we are always close by to discuss new ideas and solutions, says Henrik.
AGREEMENT ENABLES INCREASED AVAILABILITY OF COMPONENTS
The collaboration has resulted in an agreement whereby HydraSpecma stocks components to guarantee high availability.
– Availability is important to us. Previously, we would often go to the HydraSpecma store in Skellefteå to buy what we needed. Now we have ongoing reconciliations, which provides good oversight of what is available and what is needed in the future. It is time-saving, simple and convenient, says Pontus Lundström, an engineer at YPV.
In addition to availability, quality is important to YPV. As the machines become larger, heavier and faster, the equipment needs to withstand higher stress without unplanned downtime. The same applies to the components: they must be of high quality and optimized for the application in order to avoid bottlenecks. Last year, YPV bought hydraulics for almost 4 million valves, cylinders, hoses and components, all of which must meet the availability and quality requirements.
– Being able to trust our supplier and the quality is important. I know HydraSpecma is a good, solution-oriented team. If we have experienced quality that has been shaky, they have quickly engaged with the manufacturer and solved the problem. In general, we stand up for each other and solve the challenges that arise, says Peter.

EXPANGSION AND A GENERATIONAL CHANGE
Since its inception, YPV has grown continuously. The company’s premises have been expanded six times and this summer it will be expanded again to gain more warehouse space. In addition to this, a generational change is in store when Peter hands over the reins to his son Pontus.
– It will be exciting, but at the same time quite natural since I have worked here for so long. I want to run the company in the same spirit and ensure that the development and cooperation with customers continues to work just as well as it does today, concludes Pontus.
