Increased quality and safety with new test equipment

If a hydraulic hose does not meet specified quality requirements, there is a risk of serious personal injury as well as damage to machinery or facilities. Ensuring that hydraulic hoses are of the quality for their intended use is therefore extremely important. HydraSpecma’s new equipment significantly improves the testing of hydraulic hoses to ensure safety, reliability and efficiency.

HydraSpecma recently invested in an advanced test equipment that expands our ability to test and ensure the quality of hydraulic hoses. The innovative new test equipment can create and control varying temperatures and pressure conditions. 

"The new test equipment gives us new opportunities to test the performance of our hydraulic hoses. It provides increased security and enables us to guarantee the right quality to our customers in a safer and more efficient way," says Fredrik Karlsson, Fluid Conveyance Concept Manager at HydraSpecma. 

An important feature of the new test equipment is its temperature chamber, which can handle a temperature range from -40°C to +150°C. This makes it possible to simulate and test hoses under the most extreme conditions, which is crucial to ensure hose durability and performance. 

Additionally, the test equipment can check the internal oil temperature from -40°C to +150°C. The test pressure can be set to 700 bar, and it is possible to use either a square wave according to ISO 6803 or a peak wave according to ISO 6772. In addition, up to 20 different test points can be programmed to tailor the testing to specific needs. 

This new equipment gives HydraSpecma a unique and comprehensive testing capability. Together with the already existing test equipment for standard impulse test according to ISO 6803 and flex impulse test according to ISO 6802 and ISO 8032, a complete and detailed analysis of hydraulic hoses can be performed to ensure service life and performance at a whole new level.
